Well it wouldnt go with ethics
BUT
If you installed a camera on the back of the door in the toilets before someone entered it it would take a pic & it would take a pic after & if there is any damage you can check the video which shows who went into which stall.
You could do that but itd go against ethics & wouldnt be right.
Many offices insist on having the bathroom locked. Any regular employees who want to use the bathroom must get the key to open it. This is to prevent outsiders, with no interest in keeping the bathroom safe and clean, from using it.
One person could be in charge of the bathroom key, such as the receptionist. If any one needs to use the bathroom, they will have to get the key from the receptionist. If, immediately after that person borrows the key, the bathroom has been vandalized, you’ll know exactly who it is.
A lot of places have keys that you need to ask for… other than that, legally and ethically there is not much else that you can do. Another good idea would be to have them located inside of the building… they are less likely to be vandalized than the bathrooms where the entrance is located outside and easier to maintain also.
Make it so you have to get a key to use it and then check it boefre they leave.. trade their ID or car keys for the key to the restroom to assure you get the key back and can check the restroom
Not much more, as you skate very close to intrusion
Just have someone work in the bathroom.. like at clubs… they monitor.. and they get tips for doing it.
Put a lock on the bathroom door and attach a really obnoxiously large keychain (like a large piece of wood). It people have to ask for the key, they are less likely to cause damage for which they could be identified later.
Try and keep track of the people coming in and out and the time the vandalism is happening and try and narrow the suspects down catch them and prosecute. Word will get out your watching and catching the vandals and it should help.Other than posting a 24 hour security guard that’s all I can think of.
post a bathroom monitor…as in a person whose job is to stay in the restroom and greet people and refil soap ect.
Not much else you can do other than making everyone aware of the problem and people are watching. Might try a sign stating the vandalism will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It would just be lip service but it might help.
Paint it black.
